I can finally share a project I have been working on for the past year with LOKALwear! I mentioned it back in September but had to wait a little longer to share. Bruna Patko is the brain and designer behind LOKALwear. Bruna and I have had a great time collaborating on this project inspired by Matyo folk flowers and Kalocsai lace. I can not wait to get back to Budapest and pick up my shirts! I want to wear them now!
I think this is my favorite design. It is screen printed with an embroidered bird!
I have been in Seattle for 2 weeks now. It has been a surreal trip. Strange to think it has been over three years since we left! We have been catching up friends, visiting some of our old stomping grounds and being tourists in areas that have changed over the years.
To make it even more surreal I am working with my old employer creating artwork and lending a hand with overflow work. And on Tuesday I met with a client that I have been working with for over three years that I have never met face to face-tonight I head to their company Christmas party. I guess you can say this trip has been more productive than I anticipated:) There have been so many new exciting opportunities that have shown themselves since I have been in Seattle that I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I really need a day to soak it all up and plan out 2012. Hopefully I will get a bit of break at Christmas when we head to the mountains for 4 days! (I can not tell you how excited I am to be in snow and surrounded by nature!)
I was hoping to see "the mountain" when I was here. We have had so many clear days it is shocking! My husband took the photos below while on his way to a meeting in the morning. Beautiful.
I was working from a friends house a few days ago and this was my view at around 5:00pm.
This past Saturday was FAM - Fatto a Mano. I was so excited to be one of the participating artists. It was so much fun meeting new artists and reconnecting with artists I haven't seen in 3 years. Below are a few photos from the show.
Finally set up before the crowd arrives.
Thanks Roberta for opening your home to all of us.
Hello Seattlelites! Don't forget this Saturday is FAM! Roberta Torgerson of Laurelhurst generously opens her home for the 8th annual Fatto a Mano (made by hand) art show. I am very excited to be part of the talented group of artists this year. Be sure to mark your calendar and swing by and say hello!
Currently in its 8th year, FAM creates a warm space to establish long-lasting relationships between the talented artisans and the appreciative clientele. Each year the addition of new designers enhances the caliber of FAM, making it a treasured event patronized by Seattle’s most discerning shoppers. It is a much anticipated holiday event to shop for unique gifts year in year out.
This year Roberta is taking a hiatus from knitting. She has been working hard to bring to fruition her boutique Italian Language School PERCORSO ITALIANO. Visit the school’s website and peruse its course offerings to get an idea of what Roberta has been up to this year: www.percorsoitaliano.com
Roberta will host the FAM show as per tradition, and she hopes to get back into knitting early next year for FAM 2012!
