Hungarian jewelry designer - Krisztina Stomfai

I kinda have a big birthday coming up this weekend.  In an early gift to myself I bought a ring from local Hungarian designer, Krisztina Stomfai .  I have had my eye on this ring for over a year.  When I went to WAMP last weekend and saw she was at the show and selling the exact ring in the exact size for tiny finger I felt it was meant to be.  I love that this ring is one solid piece of metal-how cool is that!

The final round of shows are this week...and I am exhausted! I leave for the United States next week and definitely need a day off.

It just occurred to me that in the midst of being Santa and working on projects I forgot to update you on the shows this weekend! If you are in Budapest you can find me or my work at any of these events:

Today (Saturday):

• French School Holiday Fair (time: 10:00-14:00)Look for my work at the Once Upon a Tutu table. And while your there take a look at the cute tutus (great for the holidays!) and their packaging:)

If you do come by WAMP, I highly suggest seeing the Finnish exhibition as well as the Hungarian Design Awards. I went last week with my friend Nora and thought it was one of the best exhibits I have seen in awhile. I will post photos on Monday so check back.

WAMP and SUN

Fun times at Wamp August 2009

It was a sunny day and nice weather-not too hot and no rain!! The day started at 11:00 and was busy until about 3:30. From 3:30-7 the crowds came in groups with time in between to inhale a cheeseburger (Thank You Evi!!). The pillows didn't get to much attention. I don't think I will bring them next time-they are so big and are such a pain to deal with. The magnets and cards were a hit. My "bird bloom" magnets arrived around noon (Thanks Sue!) and got lots of attention!

As I stood behind my table I got to see what was hot for fashion. There were a ton of tourists shopping. To give you an idea of the diversity of the crowd, people who stopped by my booth were from Hungary (of course), Serbia, France, Finland, Norway, England, Ireland, Africa, Scotland, and the USA. I tried to sneak a few photos of people walking by or shopping next to me. I wish I could have taken an hour to snap more photos-I saw some great print and pattern!
I think almost all of my friends came by to say hello! It was nice to see everyone, although I didn't get to chat with anyone for very long.

Overall, it was good day-much better than my last experience where it rained all day. After some thought, I have decided to do the September WAMP. So, stay tune for details!

As you may recall, I participated in WAMP this past June. It rained and was...well...cold and awful. Sun is in the forecast for Sunday and I will be giving it another go. Come by and say hello!

WAMP and RAIN

I arrived.
I set up.
Made a few sales.

Then it rained....

I got wet.
I got cold.
The people left.

What is a girl to do:(
Packed up.
Came home.
Put on some warm socks.
Made a cup of tea.

Sun is shining while I set up.
Steve suggested he buy me some sun tan lotion...The people came and everyone was having a good time.

And then it rained.

I will try again next month.
