Back in November I was asked if I would be interested in helping create a new NAWA logo. I was very excited to help. I meet with two other members and we discussed what NAWA meant to us. We came up with a list of words: friendship, support, charity and a piece of home, Hungary and North America. We envisioned hands supporting an object or a house, something Hungarian, maybe folkish in feel. We liked colors that symbolized growth and happiness.
After a few revisions, we presented our final logo to the board. We received great feedback and made a few adjustments.
Last month the logo was revealed at a luncheon. I am excited to say it was well received. Below is the final logo.

It was great to work on a project for an organization that means so much to me.
If you are interested in learning more about NAWA in Budapest you can click here. The website doesn't show the new logo yet...but will soon.

Nice! Your touch.
Wow! I like it. Hungarian motives with non Hungarian colours!!!
Thanks Peggy!
Andi-yes, we thought something Hungarian in feel but with a bit of a different touch would be nice.
oh, i hate to see you feel lonely and depressed in budapest :(
whenever that feeling hits you again, just come over, and after spending a night with my twin girls, you'll long for some solitude :)
but serious: it would be great to meet more often, until now i was totally convinced that you are happily hanging out with the usual expat crowd...
Kata-I am very good now having made great friends (and from all over the world) but those initial months were tough.
I would love to meet up with you and your girls. Lets chat soon and set something up!
