Hillbilly Heaven...Gatlinburg

Last week my sweetie, in-laws and myself headed to Hillbilly Heaven...or better known as Gatlinburg:) My father graciously gave us the keys to his cabin for the 4 days-thanks Dad! We had a great time walking around downtown and relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. I had fun taking photos of all the crazy signs and fonts....and sweets.

Bonjour! fabric is looking good!

I am so excited to share with you some photos form my newest fabric collection called Bonjour! I have been in Ohio for a few weeks. Today, we finally had a break in the rain for a few photos outside. I am really happy with the collection. Actually I am trying to talk my Grandma into making a quilt out of this collection. I will be an aunt in a few months and I would love to give my future niece a quilt made by her great grandma with fabric designed by her aunt. What a true treasure that would be.

Dear Blog...

Dear Blog,

I am so sorry to have neglected you for the past month. Life and work have gotten in the way of updating you as frequently as I wish. I promise I have good reasons for not writing. And I promise to visit more frequently.

Here is a quick list of what has been going on with me.

1. I packed and flew 17 hours to meet up with my sweetie who I haven't seen in over 3 months! We met in the USA...on my B-day. The best birthday present ever!

2. I celebrated my birthday...my last year in my 30's! YIKES!

3. I organized (with my sister) a surprise b-day party for my father with 60 of his closest family and friends. He was really surprised!

4. I celebrated Easter with family.

5. I designed 5 collections for a surprise project...

6. Received my fabric for Bonjour! (Photos will post soon)

7. Received the latest 2 magnet collections.

painting with glee....

I have started a bad habit...I have been watching Glee at 10pm at night with my paintbrush in hand. I can watch it on the internet which is worse because I can watch an episode (or two) every night....I get a ton of paintings done while bobbing my head to the music. Is this a bad habit??

wine country

I escaped to wine country over the weekend with a few friends. I thought I would share a few photos. I went to Szekzsárd and Villányi. My two favorite regions for wine in Hungary. They make fantastic reds!

I would love to own a wine cottage...

We stopped by a town called Mohács for lunch. This group of boys walked by and I had to sneak a photo. So much color! This is very rare.

whats inspiring me right now

Yesterday was gorgeous! And spring was right outside my front door. I love when this bush starts to bloom. It is the most beautiful shade of pink.

After sitting in front of the computer almost all day, I finally had an hour to sit outside and do a bit of painting....well...more like brainstorming.

Then, last night a perfect end. Made some tea and sat down with the new British Vogue. Seriously, one of the best issues yet. I haven't been inspired by a fashion magazine in so long.

I really like the water effect of the Escada print

I know this print doesn't go with the others but I guess you can see I am working on two different looks..."underwater" florals that are blurred and soft and stark graphics.
