A twist to this mornings painting. I found a brush that works with my iPad. Love it! Not the same as the real thing but cool none the less.

lets paint!

My fantastic husband has been on a mission. He has figured out how to make a time lapse video of me painting.  I must say, it is pretty cool.  You can expect to see a lot more of these on the blog.  We were hoping to post them on Instagram. Did you know that starting today you can post videos! How cool is that! But Instagram does not allow you to upload videos, only take a video through the app:(

The video is of me painting with brush and ink. This is my preferred way to brainstorm and draw. I am working on a motif for a jacobean print for a new collection.  Let me know what you think.

Enjoy!

psaligraphy artist: Karen Bit Vejle

The Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle had a wonderful exhibition by psaligraphy artist Karen Bit Vejle.  Psaligraphy literally means the art of drawing or painting with scissors.  Her storytelling behind each piece is as inspiring as the art itself.  The exhibit was amazing!
Click here to go to her website and view more.
The below images are taken from her website.
"My heart and soul are at peace when I have scissors in
hand and the paper dances between the blades." -Karen Bit Vejle

"If my art can make you stop and wonder for just one
instant, I think that would be wonderful." -Karen Bit Vejle

dark sky on society6

A special request from the man in my life,
"can you design something a bit more manly for my iPhone?"

Don't forget Society6 now carries Samsung Galaxy covers.

colors in the garden

Happy Monday! Seattle weather was amazing this weekend. The sun was warm and the breeze cool. Yesterday I spent some time walking around my neighbors yards taking photos of the beautiful flowers popping up. The flowers casted some great shadows!
I love these. They look so futuristic.
I think I may turn this into a pattern. The sharp shadows mixed with the blurry edges makes it very interesting.
